Ack, yeah. Roel's solution of moving the file to the desktop and back again was what fixed it for me. Whoops, I'd forgotten that!

I had the same problem. iSync would bounce once at start-up and that would be all.

Steps
1. Apple support article mentioned above, both alternatives didn't work.
2. Trashing SyncServices (/System/Library/SyncServices) didn't work. The folder was recreated after reboot.
3. Navigated to the package content of iSync using the Finder and started /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/MacOS/iSync. This will first start a Terminal, which then launches iSync. This works.
4. Somewhere else, I found the suggestions to copy iSync to the Desktop and then copy it back to Applications. Now iSync can be started the normal way, again.

Dan: Trashing my SyncServices folder fixed it, although I've since learned that this is quite a bad idea. Try this first: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627

Hi Alexander,
I have a comment screening policy set up here at Lost Entropy. First comment from someone who's not commented before needs to be approved by me, after that they can post freely without approval. As I've now approved a post with your OpenID, you can now freely post here with that OpenID. :)

It tried to post using open id only, and the post didn't appear. Is it your comments settings or something wrong?
