Hospital. AGAIN.

This is getting silly now.

One of the stab wounds got infected, built up loads of pus over the past few days and burst through the stitches today. Ouch.

Yet another IV in my arm now. They’re having trouble putting them in now because I’ve had so many needles (6 on one arm, 8 on the other) in me in the past few days.

Antibiotics and another day of starvation, and a probable discharge tomorrow. Again.

How am I supposed to move house tomorrow?!?!

  • Home again!

Came home yesterday. Again. I feel a lot better, though waking up is still way too painful.

I’m supposed to be moving house tomorrow. Um… that could be interesting.

  • Still inside…

I’m still inside tonight. They were getting very worried about the fact that I may have been bleeding internally today, especially as one of the machines (incorrectly!) gave a pulse reading of over 150bpm at one point (it was actually just under 100bpm).

One ultrasound scan later, fears of internal bleeding were cleared, and I returned to find Cat waiting for me by my bed. During the time she was here (three hours or so), I improved a lot, and feel a lot stronger now. Even the pain from the stab wounds is subsiding slightly!

Tomorrow morning means a blood test. After that, I really hope I get to go home.

Just taken more painkillers than you can shake a stick at, so going to go to bed, watch some TV and sleep a bit, I guess.

  • What happened?

I’ve not really explained what happened at all.

Friday night, I was mugged, 30 yards from my house in Middlesbrough. I was stabbed three times, two abdominal wounds, one in my butt. I also have a defence wound on my hand.

CAT scans were done to check if anything internally was damaged. It wasn’t. There is a small amount of blood in my left lung which will disperse naturally with time.

If either of the abdominal wounds were even a centimetre away from where they are, I’d be dead right now. That’s incomprehensible to me right now.

I had a fast resting pulse of around 105bpm while I was kept in. I was discharged Monday with a whole cocktail of painkillers.

Tuesday, I nearly passed out at one point. I also noticed my stools were completely black (signalling blood loss, early in the digestive system). This continued on Wednesday. Wednesday evening, I returned to A&E and was readmitted. This morning, I had a chest x-ray and endoscopy, which revealed a stomach ulcer.

It was decided that the ulcer came from the stress of the incident, and one of the painkillers made it bleed. Stomach acid was preventing it from clotting, however, causing more blood loss. This blood loss is assumed to have been causing my feintness. I should have been discharged today, however my heart was racing at nearly 120bpm (resting). Hopefully I can go home and be done with all of this tomorrow.

Going back to hospital. Don’t know when I’ll be back.

  • Home

Came home on Monday. Lots of people came to see me on Monday. That was really really really nice — I wasn’t really expecting people to do that. Also, my Powerbook turned was returned by Apple for the third time. I was excited. But then I found it was STILL broken, so I phoned Apple and had a bitch. They didn’t call me back.

Yesterday I didn’t do much other than teach Mum how to play Burnout 3 on my 360. Now she’s kinda addicted. Heh. Apple also called me back — they’re taking my Powerbook G4 away and giving me a mid-range MacBook Pro (15.4″/2.16Ghz/100gb HD) to replace it with! This made me very very happy.

Today I have to go see the doctors to book an X-Ray, and go back to the hospital to get my hand checked out.

Taking 15-18 pills a day is getting silly.
