Speed kills coming down the mountain
Speed kills coming down the street
Speed kills your presence of mind
Speed kills if you know what I mean

I got to feel woke up inside again
I got to feel this broke or fix
I got to feel, I got outside myself
I got to feel when I touch your lips

The things we do to the people that we love
The way we break if there’s something we can’t take
Destroy the world that we took so long to make

We expect to come for some time
I wish us safe from harm

To find yourself, in a foreign land
Another refugee, outsider refugee

How’s it feel she’s coming up roses
How’s it feel she’s coming up sweet
How’s it feel it’s all in spite of you
How’s it feel when she’s out of your reach

The things we do to the people that we love
The way we break if there’s something in the way
Destroy the world that we took so long to make

We expect to come for some time
I wish us safe from harm

To find yourself, in a foreign land
Another refugee, outsider refugee

What happened to you?
What happened to you?
What happened to you?
What happened to you?

The things we do to the people that we love
The things we do to the people that we love
The things we do to the people that we love
The things we do to the people that we…
That we love.

  • Cable Modem rate capping

Downloading a 5mb file from 90 sources confuses the ratecap of my cable modem. By the time I’ve downloaded a 55k portion, the ratecap hasn’t had a chance to kick in. And downloading lots of seperate 55k portions means no ratecapping, basically. And doing it at 3:45am means that I don’t have anyone else in the local area using the cable, pretty much.

    SWEET AS.

  • Bill Cosby is great

I said to a guy, I said, “Uh, tell me, you know, what is it about cocaine that makes it so wonderful?”
and the guy says “Well, it intensifies your personality.”
and I said “Yes, but what if you’re an asshole?”

  • Angry computer

I think I made my computer angry last night.

About 4am last night, my linux cluster was working pretty hard (updating the prebindings etc, like it’s supposed to every day at 4am), and I had mtop open watching what it was doing, watching processes fly from one node to another, when suddenly… boom.

The entire cluster crashed. Not just one process on one computer. Not even one computer. Both Selphie and Ultimecia went down.

Not even a kernelpanic. Just… gibberish!

On top of that, Ultimecia got royally screwed. Stuff was corrupt left, right, and center. It’s reformatting/reinstalling now, but what the hell happened? Either way, I’m not running them as a cluster anymore.

(: t3quila is fine. I’ll put it all back for you when the system comes back up.)

  • FreeWorld Dialup

I now have FreeWorld Dialup, an IP-based phone system. Basically my computer is also a phone.

You can call me one of three ways:

  • From a UK phone on 0870 340 3229
  • From a US phone on 360 968 1179
  • By calling me from an SIP phone (X-LiteFWD or MSN Messenger for Windows) at 268419

By the way, this is all free and stuff, so if you have speakers and a microphone (or better a headset), why not join? This is actually really kinda cool. Oh, and you can call real phones from it too (although that’s not quite so free, but it’s still cheaper than calling from a mobile).

(This will say “now online” if i’m online, or “network member” if I’m offline. If I’m offline you can leave voicemail…)

  • SOCOM 2

SOCOM 2 is such a weird game to play because, not only do you have to listen to the sounds coming from the TV, you also have to listen to the sounds coming from the headset… it can be confusing when several things are happening at once.
